MEETING MINUTES

Business Meeting called to order at 7:15 by Dr. Mark Welch.

OLD BUSINESS

Minutes of March 23rd D.C. Dermatology Day meeting were approved.

Dr. Welch welcomed Dr. Valerie Callender who lectured on "Treatment of Scarring Alopecias in Women”.

NEW BUSINESS

The new applicants for membership in the D.C. Dermatological Society were approved unanimously. Dr Mark Welch welcomed Dr. Marisa Braun, Dr. Emily Porter Gerson,
Dr. Anne Mc Bride, Dr. Geeta Shah, Dr. Charles Toner and Dr. Thomas Yu into the Society.

Dr. Katz asked for new volunteers for the Whitman-Walker Clinic. Those interested may contact Dr. Katz or the Clinic directly.

An announcement was made by Dr. Vincenzo Giannelli regarding the upcoming skin cancer screening at Fairfax INOVA Hospital on Saturday. May 19th.

Dr. Valerie Callender announced an upcoming skin cancer screening which will take place at the Bullrock Country Club in Havre de Grace, MD. The screening is sponsored by the Women Dermatological Society and the Ladies Professional Golf Association. Players will be screened on June 6, 2007. Attendees will be screened on June 8 through June 10, 2007. Volunteers may contact Dr. Valerie Callender at DRVDCSKIN@AOL.COM.

Dr. Giannelli also discussed the CME sponsorship need for 2008. The Washington Hospital Center as well as Georgetown Hospital will be applying for CME accreditation and may serve to sponsor other D.C. Dermatological Society meetings.
