WASHINGTON D.C. DERMATOLOGICAL SOCIETY MEETING MINUTES
Host: INOVA Fairfax Hospital
Date: December 2, 2006

Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 9:35AM.

Minutes: The minutes from the November 14 meeting were approved as presented.

Member surveys: Results from November were distributed. A new survey was presented.

Membership: The application of Kenneth Katz MD was approved for membership. Two new membership applications were presented: Nicola Bravo MD; Courtney Herbert MD. These applications will be voted on at the January meeting.

Scholarship Grant Committee: This ad hoc committee consists of Sandra Read, M.D. (chair), Scott Norton, M.D., George Turiansky, M.D., and Amir Bajoghli, M.D. After meeting, they proposed placing the surplus from the Atlantic Dermatology meeting into an interest bearing account. The interest would be used for grants or scholarships. Dermatology residents and fellows, given priority, would apply for research funds. The proposal will be attached to the minutes and comments received prior to the January meeting.

Bylaws: Updated bylaws are available on line and should be voted on at the January meeting.

Cancer screenings: Screenings for Congress are proposed for the first and/or second week in May 2007.

Reminders: Please turn in CME cards and evaluations; update address changes on the website; please pay outstanding dues.

The next meeting will be at Children’s National Medical Center on Tuesday, January 16, 2007 at 6:30 PM.

The meeting was adjourned at 9:43 AM.
