NEWS - November 2005

THE OCTOBER DINNER & DISCUSSION in recognition of our Residents was very well attended & lively discussion was enjoyed by membership. Dr. Read thanked all the Dermatology residents for their hard work. Special thanks to Dr. Bob Katz who led the discussion on Physician Extenders and their Impact on Dermatology; Dr. Lynn McKinley-Grant’s presentation on Dermatology Image & Branding; Dr. Mark Welch for arranging Mr. Schull’s presentation of Financial Planning; and Mr. Rob Bohannon from the AADA Washington office who updated the attendees on the status of the State Cosmetic Tax. The Atlantic Dermatology Clinical Committee met prior to the meeting. The committee plans to have at least five cases proposed for presentation by each academic institution by Dec. 3, 2005.


NEXT MEETING:

Please make sure your calendars are updated; there is no November D.C. Dermatology meeting. The next meeting is December 3rd at Fairfax Hospital. This is a Saturday morning meeting starting at 9.00 AM. An updated map will be sent with the meeting announcement at the end of this month.


GEORGETOWN UNIVERSITY D.C. DERMATOLOGY MEETING DATE:
Schedule change - New date: January 31, 2006.


ATLANTIC DERMATOLOGY CONFERENCE: Save the Date - April 28-30, 2006
A superb scientific & special social program is scheduled. Saturday evening’s social event will be held at the Native American Indian Museum, a first for many of our members. The Saturday luncheon ‘speaker’ will be entertainment by the Capitol Steps. Dr. Lynn McKinley-Grant is coordinating the clinical cases. Please contact her if you have cases to present. We are seeking 60 cases for presentation.


SKIN CANCER SCREENING on Capitol Hill:
Save the Dates - May 3 & 10, 2006. Please contact Dr. Mark Welch to participate in this important event.


MEMBERSHIP DIRECTORY: Member demographics & profiles are being updated and placed on our website. Please be sure to contact our administrator, Ms. Janiece Jones, with your information.


DUES: Payments are still outstanding from some of our members. Reminder that $100.00 is your society dues and $275.00 covers your Atlantic Dermatology Conference registration.
